10 Ways to Spruce up your Home for the Holidays
Accessories for your home are like that versatile black dress.  Dress it up with a pearl necklace for an understated elegant look.  Add a colorful scarf for a more casual look.

Hudson Valley Candlelight tour

Experience how Christmas was celebrated in the Hudson Valley during the 17th and 18th centuries with a visit to Van Cortlandt Manor and Washington Irving's Sunnyside. Both host a candlelight tour of the historic houses which are all decorated with period decorations.  December 19th & 26th.  914-631-8200.
 


Chabad of the Rivertowns hosts a Hanukkah celebration with the building of the world's largest Lego Menorah.  December 13th.  914-693-6100.
 

At Lyndhurst their holiday tour features each room opulently decorated, inspired by a different fairy tale.  Tours run until December 27th.  914-631-4481.
 

Visit the Greenburgh Nature center for its "Trains: Your Ticket to the Great Outdoors".  The Westchester Model Railroad Club creates both local and exotic scenes with model trains.  914-723-3470  .
