Greetings!

Welcome to the official launch of our monthly newsletter.  I hope you enjoyed our premiere issue.

At this time of year we are all busy getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Did you know that Berkeley Plantation, in Charles City Virginia is considered to be the site of the first Thanksgiving celebrated in 1619.  Visit the plantation for a First Thanksgiving celebration where you can tour a very beautiful Georgian mansion built in 1726.  View rare period antiques in the main house and tour the magnificent grounds.

Ask the Designer
Question:

How do I make my Thanksgiving table festive without looking too formal - "stuffy"?

Answer:

Instead of using one large centerpiece in the center of the table, scatter smaller arrangements on the table.  Utilize what is seasonal.
-          Mini pumpkins, gourds, dried corn husks, chestnuts and acorns.
-          Stack mini apples, cranberries, dried pomegranates in dual layer hurricane pillar candles.
-          Small clusters of flowers in silver mint julep containers interspersed with votives.

Each month we feature a question in the Ask the Designer Section.
