Dear Family and Friends,
Thanks for your prayers for our time in Haiti. My dad was not able to fly out of PAP as scheduled so we drove back to the DR and he flew out of Santo Domingo. We passed burned out vehicles and charred tires by the road which confirmed our decision to lay low for a few days was a wise one! The current situation in Haiti, while the votes are recounted, could be described as both apprehensive and calm. The cholera crisis continues to accelerate out of control on a national level - which is of great concern. Please pray for health workers attending the sick, and for adequate supplies of medication. Pray for a government to be elected that would consider the best interest of all of it's citizens.
Since I returned to the Dominican Republic, I have been coordinating via phone and e-mail the building of the first five temporary shelters. As challenging as my time in Port-au-Prince was, I think it is even more challenging to direct a building project from a distance!! As of today, the frames of the first 3 temporary shelters are erected. We hope that tomorrow YWAM Port-au-Prince will be able to put on the sides and roof. Please pray as a friend, Dr. Michel Brutus, will be meeting with the mayor of Croix-de-Bouquet to continue the process of land acquisition to relocate the camp. We need to see God's hand move in accelerating this process (We made six trips to meet with mayor while we were in PAP)! Last Friday, we left a large supply of life-saving cholera medications at the Missionary Aviation Fellowship hanger so they could be flown to Jacmel Saturday.
At this point, we have no cholera in the Delmas 6 camp - thank the Lord! We are treating the water daily and with the leadership committee we

Our biggest current need is for each family to have a drinking water filtration system that eliminates cholera. The Sawyer point-one bucket filters eliminate cholera, are simple to use and have a million gallon warranty! From now until December 23, the company has a special discount of 40% off which makes this lifelong filter system only $38 per family! We are praying for a way to be able to give the lifelong gift of clean, cholera-free, drinking water to the 100 families in the camp.

Family members gifted our family plane tickets to meet with them for 10 days in Orlando FL. We fly out tomorrow to meet with our extended family in Orlando for Christmas (Dec 17-29). If you need to contact us our phone number is below.
