Dear Family and Friends,
Thank-you for praying for our twentieth Haiti trip. I arrived back in Jarabacoa on Thursday after driving through some heavy rains which were a bi-product hurricane Tomas. While I was in Haiti, I did tent-to-tent preventative teaching on Cholera, met with the land owner of the refugee camp, guided the people through a turn-over in the internal camp leadership committee, procured 200 temporary shelters through Samaritan's Purse, met with 2 of the mayors of Cite Soliel, looked for land to relocate some families and set up an emergency hurricane plan for refuge with the Church of God.
| | Dr. Brutus and I met with HELP's community health promoters. Although the hospital's curative care facility was destroyed in the quake, the preventative health care team works in the community moving from home to home assesing health needs and teaching on Cholera prevention. I was able to bring them some medications they desperately needed. |
| | Dr. Brutus lost 90% of the buildings that comprised HELP inc's hospital, orphange, and nutrition center. He is willing to loan land for 2-3 years to relocate 50 families from the Delmas 6 refugee camp! |

Our family is at a 50th reunion and conference of YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Caribbean in Puerto Plata. It is good for our family to be together and un-plug. But, I am feeling real pressure about a couple aspects of the refugee camp in Haiti. The land owner where the refugee camp is located is insisting that the families be moved by Dec 1. To complicate matters, elections are at the end of November. In an amazing answer to prayer, Samaritan's Purse donated supplies for 200 temporary shelters provided we have people to build them. Dr Brutus and HELP inc are willing to loan land (near his collapsed hospital and orphanage in Croix de Bouquet) to the families that don't have the option of re-integrating into the community. The YWAM Jarabacoa team that was lined up to begin building on Nov 15th canceled! That means that everything is up in the air! The Lord must have an answer so I am trying to rest in Him and follow His leading. | | Members of the new leadership comitee at Delmas 6 refugee camp. |
Thank-you for your prayers - Hurricane Tomas did no major damage in the camp and so far, we have no cases of Cholera in the camp! Land has been loaned by Dr Brutus to re-locate some families and Samaritan's Purse will provide materials for 200 temporary shelters!!!
Continue to Pray with us that: 1.) That the people of the Delmas 6 refugee camp would come to know Jesus. 2.) The possibility of another group to build the temporary shelters will materialize. (There is a possibility that Youth With A Mission Port-au-Prince may be able to help.) 3.) The Lord would provide a connection with another organization to meet the sanitation and water needs at Dr Brutus' relocation site in Croix de Bouquet.
4.) Pray for our family as we balance every day life with the on-going ministry in the Dominican Rep as well as the situation in Haiti.
