Prayer Requests from Haiti... From Samuel & Kendra Luna
February  22, 2010

Kendra called this morning from Haiti and asked that I pass on to you the following three prayer requests:

   1.  The English NGO called "Shelter Box" provides temporary housing for refugees.  They have had ten years of experience in 70 countries providing tents for people displaced by disasters. This past Friday Kendra & her dad visited their headquarters in PAP. This was followed up by an e-mail sent to "Shelter Box" requesting 400 tents for the Delmas #6 camp and homeless Free Methodists in PAP.  This morning Kendra received a call from "Shelter Box" that they wold like to visit these two locations today. Please pray that this meeting goes well and the "Shelter Box" leaders decide to make this contribution. These are large family tents that are specifically designed to stand up well to moisture and high winds.  A large part of "Shelter Box" funding comes from Rotary Clubs International.

2.   Pray for the release and transport of well drilling equipment that is in Jacksonville Florida waiting for transfer to Haiti. Well driller, Curt King, is in Haiti and ready to use this equipment.

3.  The FOHO Haitian caretaker, Elen, who was killed in the quake left behind his 3 year old son and his wife Edwine' (8 months pregnant).  Edwine' is now living in a tent in PAP.  Attempts are being made to help her get an ID card and then appropriate papers to move to Florida close to friends.  Please pray for "exceptions" to be made since all her records were destroyed in the earthquake.

The above are not things that we can do in our own strength!  We need God's provision if these things are going to take place for the good of the Haitian people. Thanks for being part of our prayer support team. So many of you have sent us notes letting us know that you are praying.  We will let you know how God answers these prayers!

Thank you from Kendra & Samuel

4.) Pray for God's peace to be felt by the Haitian people, especially the orphans and widows, in the midst of their desperate situation.

5.) Pray for wisdom to locate the best "tent house" structures for the displaced Haitian families.

6.) Pray for God's continued direction in locating relief supplies in PAP.
