Yesterday (Saturday) afternoon, I received a very short, but greatly appreciated, five word e-mail from Kendra in Haiti which said "Hi mom, we are good". In spite of the fact that they took 4 different cell phones from different companies with them, I assume that none have working service in Haiti. (contrary to reports they had heard before they left)
I expect they will return to the Dominican Republic tomorrow (Monday) with many things to share with you along with some pictures from their time in Haiti.
If you have any unopened antibiotics or pain medications that you would like to send directly to Haiti through the Lunas. Be sure to have them delivered to one of the drop off locations mentioned in the last update by Friday Jan29th.
The "Renewable Water Project" for Haiti previously described that is being sponsored by a Dominican church and the Davison Mi. FM church & community is being joined by a church in Petersburg Alaska. Pray for Jim Engell, my nephew, as he shares this project with the community of Petersburg Alaska today.
I am sure that Kendi & Sami hearts echo Paul's words in Corinthians 1:9 - 11 (New Living Translation) "...We have learned not to rely on ourselves, but on God... and we are confident that He will continue to deliver us. He will rescue us because you are helping by praying for us. As a result, many will give thanks to God because so many people's prayers for our safety have been answered."
Please remember our Christian brothers & sisters today in Haiti today as they hold their services of worship outside with many members missing.
Have a blessed day!
Cheryl Trepus (Kendra's mom)
