Please continue to pray for the earthquake victims.
Samuel left Jarabacoa early this morning en route to Haiti...
This is a brief update and call to prayer!
Please pray this morning for Samuel to be able to get the vehicle permit and all of the paper work necesary to drive from the DR into Haiti at the Jimani boarder crossing.
I am going to be brief this morning. A more detailed report is to come. I have to coordinate gathering a few more supplies that Samuel needs before leaving Santo Domingo for the boarder. I will try to send another update with more details later in the day or early tomorrow.
The plan is that Samuel, a representative from Free Methodist World Missions, a Haitian brother named Voltier (he is the our boys French teacher at Doulos school) and possibly another person will travel with a three vehicle caravan to the Port-au-Prince area. They have several objectives to their trip but, as you can well imagine, there are many unknown factors.
Here are some specific ways you can pray today...
1.) Pray for all the paper work and the permission to travel to be granted TODAY! Under the best of circumstances this normally takes at least three days. We have some contacts working to accelerate the process but we need the Lord to move on our behalf.
2.) Pray that we would have wisdom in knowing what items and supplies we should take. Pray that the Lord would provide those things.
3.) Pray for general wisdom and protection. From the information we have been able to gather, there are some risks involved.
Psalm 46 has been particularly meaningful to me recently. Verses 1 & 2 say, "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea."
