Greetings!
At Convergence 2011, Microsoft shared its vision to take Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions "to the cloud". Building on the success of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, Microsoft revealed a path for its ERP customers to move to the cloud with the next major releases of Microsoft Dynamics, which will run on the Windows Azure platform.
But don't be concerned. You will be able to move to the cloud on your own terms. You can keep it as an option for the future as you evaluate how or if it would fit your business model. The Microsoft Dynamics GP solution will have the same benefits in the cloud as they do on-premises.

10 Financial Fundamentals for 2011
It's still not too late to start some spring cleaning in your business' financials. Here are 10 financial fundamental tips for your business that don't require a CPA degree to understand. A few particularly appealing ones include the following:
- Employees spend most of your cash. Have a meeting, and ask them to help you identify ways to maximize margins and cut expenses. Write those things down, and put them into the new budget and your operation.
- Interest rates are still low. Talk with your bankers about adjusting any outstanding notes to the new rates.
- Profit is the Queen of business, but cash is King. Tighten up credit terms with customers. Have a meeting with your sales staff to make sure they understand the new policies. Stay close to your accounts receivables - real close.
- If possible, personally call on every customer to have a business visit, not a sales call. Lay out your case for how you will serve them in the coming year, but also reveal what the relationship needs to look like for it to be good for you. Think partners, not adversaries.

Make Quick Steps in Microsoft Outlook 2010
Do you have emails that you click and drag to different folders? In Microsoft Outlook 2010 you can create your own short cut buttons with the Quick Step box feature. Go to the Quick Step section on the Home tab, click on Create New. You will then assign a name, shortcut key, tool tip for your Quick Step, and select the actions you want your Quick Step to do. For instance, you can choose your action to be Move to Folder, then choose the folder you want the email to go to. Click Finish and your Quick Step will now be in the Quick Step box on the Home tab.
When you click on the email you want to move, you can then click on your named Quick Step, or use the short cut key stroke you created. Your email will then move to your specified folder. Save yourself some time and make some Quick Steps that work for you. | |
