Greetings!

Happy Christmas!

I'm writing this from Williamstown, MA where I'll be teaching my Winter Study course on the Digital Darkroom at Williams College in January. Now however, it's time to relax and enjoy the company of my family for the next couple of weeks.

It even looks like we might have a white Christmas, although it may end up being a slushy one instead. We'll just have to see.

It's been a busy month with the Christmas Craft Fair at the RDS early on. Thanks to all who visited, it was great to see you.

I also received my 2010 wall calendars and even though they were late in coming, demand has been excellent. I still have some remaining, and have dropped the price considerably - read on to find out how to get yours.

I did well again at this year's International Aperture Awards, with all three images submitted receiving recognition.

This month's article is on the subject of crop factors in digital cameras - something that causes a bit of confusion to newcomers to digital photography. Hopefully you'll find it helpful.

Again, Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year, and I hope to see you in 2010!

Peter
2010 Calendars - Special Offer
2010 CalendarsI decided to make my first calendar this year, and I'm very pleased with the result.

My 2010 wall calendar is a generous A3 size and features thirteen of my favourite images from recent years.  It really is beautiful and looks great hanging on the wall.

Demand has been excellent and I'm left with a limited number which I am now offering at half price, just €7.50 plus P&P.

Offer only while stocks last, so get yours today!
International Aperture Awards
International Aperture AwardsOnce again this year I had a good showing at the International Aperture Awards, one of the premier international photo competitions.

I submitted three images, all of which received bronze crests.

You can see the awarded images in my blog post on the subject.

Next year's goal: silver or better.
Seminar and Workshop Dates for 2010
My popular seminars and field workshops have now been scheduled for the first half of 2010.

They make an excellent gift for the person who has everything, and if you're not sure what dates will work, gift certificates are available which can be redeemed for any of next year's dates.
Sensor Size and Crop Factor - Explained
Crop Factor ExplainedThis month's article explains the concept of 'crop factor' in digital photography and what it means for your camera and lens choices.

This is something that can be confusing to newcomers to digital photography, so I hope it proves useful to you.

Click here to read it, and enjoy! Feel free to email me with your comments, I'd love to hear from you.
That's all for this month. Thanks for your continued business and I'll see you in the new year!

Don't forget that you can forward this newsletter on to your friends.
Cheers,
Peter
