KP2

Most of us have never seen the beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish off the coast of Molokai in the Hawaiian Islands.

Neither can KP2, a Hawaiian monk seal who is 80% blind.

Abandoned at birth by his mother, KP2, named Ho`ailona in Hawaiian, was the first monk seal pup raised in captivity to be released back into the wild. Unfortunately, despite these heroic efforts, KP2 is now afflicted with cataracts.  One of fewer than 1,200 Hawaiian monk seals remaining, he has returned to captivity so veterinarians can care for him.

Saving the Hawaiian monk seal is one of MCBI's highest priorities.  Your generous, tax-deductible gift to MCBI will help us continue our work to this critically endangered marine mammal from extinction and support our programs to protect the oceans.
Sincerely,
