Underdog

Ten Lucky Dogs Say Cheese & Save!

Liz Young of Underdog Photography uses a documentary style and strives to "bring out your dog's personality while letting your dog just be a dog".  To have Liz capture their furry friends on film, clients typically must invest $175 in a sitting fee before any prints are ordered.  During the month of June, TEN Generation Dog's clients are invited to schedule a professional studio shoot with Liz for the drastically reduced sitting fee of $25*.  The $250* minimum print purchase still applies but it's likely you'll have a hard time limiting yourself to this amount once you see the proofs from your dog's shoot!  To take advantage of this offer, call us to schedule an "Underdog Package" and we will coordinate with Liz to schedule your dog's grooming immediately before your shoot so everyone is looking their best and ready to say cheese! Your $25 sitting fee will be added on to your grooming bill and then you will work directly with Underdog to order your prints.  If you haven't seen her canvases hanging in the store, you can check out Liz's work at www.underdogpics.com

*Additional $25 sitting fee & $75 increase in minimum purchase apply for each additional pet included in the shoot.  Sitting fees are non-refundable.

Rub-a-Dub-Dogs Lend a Paw!

Hair Booms

Thanks to the clever discovery of an Alabama hairstylist and the diligent efforts of an organization in California, much of the hair that ends up on the floors of human and pet salons alike is being put to use soaking up oil in the Gulf of Mexico.  Matter of Trust, an organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area, has received unprecedented media attention since the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico for their "Booms" like those pictured above which use hair to soak up oil better than non-renewable resources.  Like other salons worldwide, Rub-a-Dub-Dog Bathhouse and Spa signed up immediately upon hearing of this way to help and has been sending dog hair and fur clippings to temporary warehouses set up to make booms along the Gulf Coast for the last two weeks.  So far two shipments totalling 13 lbs of dog hair and fur collected from grooming appointments has been sent - with another box ready to go in the next few days.  We intend to continue saving and shipping hair as long as there is a need so schedule your dog's appointment for a summer shave or furminator today so he too can lend a paw!  If your dog doesn't need grooming but you'd like to help, there are other ways you can help.  Visit  www.matteroftrust.org to learn more.

Birmingham Dogs Bark for More!

Lotus Pet Food
If you've visited our Homewood boutique or facebook page lately, you already know about the new Lotus Pet Food line available exclusively at Generation Dog that has dogs in Birmingham Barking for more!  Lotus started by using nature's healthiest foods - fresh chicken, lamb and fish, brown rice and barley, apples, carrots and sweet potatoes then kicked it up a notch by adding special ingredients such as grapeseed extract, kelp and green-lipped mussels that are backed with benefits for pets and humans alike. Then they scientifically balanced this tasty recipe with even more vitamins and chelated minerals, prebiotics and even glucosamine and chondroitin and chose to BAKE it over long periods of time at low temperatures so all this natural goodness remains in tact all they way to your best friends bowl!  We're so sure that you and your dog will love it that between now and May 31st, you can get a FREE 6lb bag of your choice - or two free 13 oz cans!  No purchase is required and there is no obligation but when you see how much more energetic your dog is you won't want to feed him anything else.  For more information you can visit
www.lotuspetfoods.com or come by to pick up a brochure and sample.
