The National Book Foundation's Innovation in Reading Prize was established to recognize organizations and individuals demonstrating passion, creativity and leadership in the service of creating and sustaining a lifelong love of reading. The National Book Foundation's National Book Award is the nation's most prestigious literary award; those honored have included William Faulkner, Norman Mailer and J.D. Salinger.
