BIOWASTE REFRESHER TRAINING
This year this training will be done by accessing a link with a video we have uploaded online.  The link will be emailed to all volunteers that are required to go through this training.

We will have a sign in sheet at each clinic location for you to sign once you have completed this training.

There will also be a hard copy of this training material at the health center so you can review if needed.

Look for more information in the mail in October!

CALLING ALL PRACTITIONERS...
CALLING ALL PRACTITIONERS!
It's that time of year again!  September 11, 2012 is the very special "Bring a Doc to Dinner" event.  This dinner is designed to help us meet the needs of Shepherd's Hope patients and YOU can help!

Invite as many of your favorite Physicians, ARNP's & PA's to dine with us at Leu Gardens at 6:00 pm to answer the heavy and ever present demand for practitioners -- come and Bring a Doc to Dinner!

The top recruiter, by the way, will receive two free tickets to our 13th Annual Famous Faces Masquerade Ball on October 20, 2012... and there's word that the costumes this year are going to be on another level!

 DEDICATION DAY

demo day - longwood - august 2012
Sanlando United Methodist Church's HOMER volunteers offered their time and talents to remove carpet, demo walls and prepare the additional  space for remodeling.

The Longwood Shepherd's Hope Health Center has expanded and added an additional 1,200 sq. feet of office space next to the clinic.  All the labor was donated, along with drywall, carpet, furniture, kitchen cabinets, counter tops & a refrigerator.

On August 16, 2012, close to 100 Community Partners and volunteers showed up at our Longwood Health Center Expansion Event to help us celebrate our big day.

Thank you to our Faith Partners, Advisory Council, Shepherd's Hope Board and volunteers that made this day possible!

Dr. William S. Barnes, founder of Shepherd's Hope, addresses the crowd at the official dedication of the Shepherd's Hope Longwood Health Center expansion.

 MEDICATION VOUCHER PROGRAM

At the beginning of this year, due to strict regulations from the Florida Department of Health, we had no choice but to relinquish our pharmacy permits due to tightening regulations with which we could not comply.  Other than at our Longwood location (where we have 24/7 access), we no longer keep medications at our health centers.

Because we strive to provide access to patients in need of medical care, including pharmaceuticals, we are very excited to announce we signed a contract with Walmart Pharmacy to provide generic medication prescribed from the $4 formulary at no charge to the patients.  The cost of the medication is covered by Shepherd's Hope.  Any other non-generic medication and/or brand name pharmaceutical will be the patient's responsibility.
