Defender Filters Selected for World's First Legoland Waterpark
Coventry, RI - April 28, 2010 - Neptune-Benson, Inc., leading manufacturer of commercial pool filtration systems, is pleased to announce that its Defender Filters have been selected for the filtration of the world's first Legoland Waterpark in Carlsbad, CA.
As part of a $15 million expansion to Legoland California, Merlin Entertainment is planning the world's first Lego themed waterpark. The 5.5 acre waterpark will feature twin waterslide towers; toddler water play areas and a lazy river where visitors can custom build their own Lego raft.
Four (4) Defender automatic regenerative media filters will filter nearly a half million gallons of pool water. Defender filters will save the park nearly 4 million gallons of water per year, an important factor in drought-stricken California.
Pete Kowny, Maintenance Manager at Legoland, says, "We chose the Defender filters because of the water savings and water quality they'll provide for our park." Defender filters can filter particles down to 1 micron in diameter which decreases the risk of recreational waterborne illnesses such as crypto.
Legoland's waterpark is scheduled to open in June 2010.
