We forget: Words are mini metaphors. Table, as straightforward a word as it may seem, is a not the actual thing. It's a symbol. Your idea of table and mine, as I say the word in a talk, might be vastly different.
Why is this important to point out? Table is a simple concept. Complex ideas such as communication or teamwork are subject to far greater variance in interpretation.
Make sure, when giving a presentation, you are alert to words subject to audience confusion. Give examples, a few additional words to clarify, in those situations. You will be amazed at the difference it makes in how well people understand you.
