Comedian Bill Cosby's one-man show was a sell out. Promoters added extra seats over the orchestra pit, putting a few of us so close to the edge of the stage that we could touch it--and the famous entertainer.
Cosby sat on the edge of the stage, legs dangling, as he told his great stories. During one, everyone, including Cosby, got so tickled that he lost track of where he was...he paused...he looked out into the 3,000-strong audience, blanked, and then looked directly at my date.
"What was I just talking about?"
My date and I were so flabbergasted to have him ask us a question, we were speechless. He jabbed at us for being so clueless, and the audience roared with laughter. Then, he remembered where he was, picked up the story, and everyone continued to have a great time.
The point?  That's the difference between most people and a pro.  He wasn't the least bit concerned about a brain freeze.  He just went with the flow and continued to have a great time.
