Development Strategy Securing adequate funding for the Museum will not be an overnight process given that we will need $14 million to fully complete the plans. Our strategy includes fundraising at the local, state, and national levels. We are developing exciting and fun concepts for the initial funders. Much more detail will follow in subsequent newsletters. We need your help! Our first task is to inform and connect with those you know who have an interest or passion around aviation, history, and education. Please use the "Forward Email" link at the bottom left of this newsletter to get them on our mailing list. Forwarding this newsletter without using the link is not the best way to inform your friends as we have no way to follow-up and get them additional information.
In the near term, we need funds to support managing contacts, writing grants, developing supporters and friends of the Museum, and working with the media as we move toward Museum completion. Please consider a gift which reflects your belief that this piece of World War II history deserves to be preserved for future generations as a testament to our national pride and ingenuity. We take special pride in our initial Friends of the Museum. Please be a part of this select group with your financial support. |

Dear ,
Welcome to the inaugural newsletter for The National Museum of World II Aviation. After months of completing the initial concept plans and site planning, we are ready to introduce the Museum to the Pikes Peak region.
For those who attended our scoping meetings and discussions, much work is already accomplished. For those who were not a part of those meetings: The National Museum of World War II Aviation will be the ONLY museum in the US exclusively dedicated to telling the story of the development and deployment of American airpower during WWII, and the long legacy that we enjoy from it today.
This will be a world class museum with interactive exhibits, compelling displays, real life stories and yes, WWII era aircraft. We chose Colorado Springs as the site of the Museum because of the rich history of aviation in our town, our central location in the country, our popularity as a tourist destination, and our significant military community.
Please get a look at our website for the big story. If you have flown into Colorado Springs and wondered about the checkerboard roof hangars on the northwest side of the airport, they are on the Museum complex and will support the visitor experience. We are now seeking funds to build the Museum structure and complete the exhibits and collections. Below are a couple of articles to give you an idea on direction and impact this endeavor will have from a national perspective. |

Design Update |
Gallagher & Associates is a world class museum design and consulting organization whose list of accomplishments is truly remarkable. We are pleased that Gallagher was selected to provide the initial designs for the Museum's exhibits. We want an exceptional museum so the design firm needed to deliver at that level of excellence. More details can be found on the website.

The Board of Directors |
We have been busy recruiting experienced and capable individuals to our Board of Directors. This is a targeted activity and will continue during the next months. We want to develop a Board that is well balanced with strong local representation as well as national notables. Board representation will include experience in education, aviation, the airpower industry, and other key fields associated with the Museum mission. Review our current board members at our website.

As a member of our initial contact list, you have the opportunity to spread the word about the Museum using the "Forward Email" link. Take a critical look at the web site as well as this newsletter and give us your feedback. Please join with us to make this Museum a reality in Colorado Springs. Take a moment to edit your information in the Constant Contact database. Should you desire to contact any of our Board Members directly, their contact information is included in the biography data on the museum website. If you were a part of our military including our respected allies or have contributed to our freedom in any way, we thank you for your unselfish service.
Sincerely,
James Stewart :: William Klaers
