What's Up at Advent Arlington
Ready, Set, Go! Advent Arlington Launch
 Arlington Tire SwingGreetings!

Sorry it's been so long since you've received one of these updates.  It's not that we've been idle!  January has been a busy and productive month for Advent Arlington.  Many important decisions have been made, ministry positions have been filled, and we are pressing on to our launch beginning February 15th on through Easter Sunday.

Below you can learn more about what's up.  The biggest items though are the beginning of a new schedule and new classes this Sunday, an all-church potluck, a church web-site, and our new and final preparations for our grand opening.

Church Potluck
We will have a church potluck following worship on Sunday, February 8th to celebrate the end of our preparation phase (the following Sunday is our Launch!).  Bring a dish to share and come hungry!
New Website!
Advent Church has a new website.  The new site is designed for our two campuses.  At the top of the page you can select the campus you are interested in.  Check it out and let Don know how it can be improved.

 or
AdventPres.com and select the Arlington button on the top right

Yard Signs
We have created yard signs to announce our launch.  They look similar to the banner at the top of this sight.  If you are willing to display a sign in your yard, please pick one up at church this Sunday or call Kelly Henson at 867-8131 to arrange to pick it up at other times.

Note: The town of Arlington allows such signs to be displayed for non-profits for a month prior to an event, but they must be removed within 48 hours following the event.  Property owner permission is required.

Donations Needed
The teens begin meeting in the Kid's Kottage for Sunday School this week, but their furnishings are sparse.  If you happen to have some bean bags, futon, coffee or end table, we'll make use of them.
Check Your Clock!
New Times Begin this Sunday
Don't forget that we begin our new schedule this Sunday.  We will have a Sunday School hour followed by a Worship hour.

Children should be taken directly to the Kid's Kottage (the Yellow Room).

Teens may go directly to the Green Room in the Kid's Kottage.

Adult Sunday School will be held in the fellowship hall.  Adults will be studying the final week of Jesus and his crucifixion from now until Easter.

10:00 am     Sunday School

11:00 am     Worship
Wee Church
Wee Church also begins this week.  Children ages 3 - 1st grade may go to the vestibule following the children's message where the Wee Church leaders will take them next door to the Kid's Kottage.  Parent's are asked to go next door following worship to pick up your child(ren).

Nursery
Nursery care will be available during both Sunday School and worship.
Learn More about the Great Banquet this Sunday
If you've heard about this "Great Banquet" thing and how great it is, but have no idea what it is about, here is your chance to get educated (schooled?).  Members of the Great Banquet community are coming together to sponsor a luncheon immediately following worship this Sunday for interested persons.  Simply head to the fellowship hall after church, enjoy some pizza and drinks (gratis!), and hear from others what this ministry is all about.
