Christmas Announcements from Advent Arlington Church

Greetings!

We have a busy weekend at Advent! I've included notes on a few of those events below. The biggest for us at Advent Arlington will be the Arlington Christmas parade this Saturday. This will be important as it will be our first "public" appearance. We'll have members all around in our sweatshirts and hats, we'll have people parking at our church and using our restroom facilities, we'll have a float in the parade, and we'll have singers in the square.

IMPORTANT: The parade begins at 4:30 pm. I've been told that Chester Street could be closed down as early as 3:30 pm. If you would like to park at the church, please do so by 3:30 pm.

Apparel Pick-up

Our Advent Arlington sweatshirts and hats are here! You may pick them up at the Kerns' house (5489 Hidden Meadows Drive, directly across from the Arlington Middle School driveway on Memphis-Arlington Road) Thursday evening after 6:00 pm and on Friday from 8 am until 1 pm. You can also pick them up at Advent Arlington Church on Saturday before the parade from 3-4 pm.

Breakfast with Santa

Breakfast with Santa is a fun event for all ages of children. It is a tradition of Advent and is being held Saturday morning (Dec. 6th) at 10 am at Advent Cordova. A pancake breakfast is served and the Advent Puppeteers with perform "The Gift of Jesus." For admission, bring a new teddy bear (small or medium) which will be donated to children through the Child Advocacy Center. Call 755-6290 for further information.

Happy Birthday Advent!

Advent will celebrate it's 30th year anniversary this Sunday evening at 5:30 pm at Advent Cordova. Bring a dish to share at the potluck dinner (no dessert as cake will be provided). After eating, there will be a program featuring our children and there will be a congregational meeting where several Advent Arlington members will hopefully be elected to service.

Coming up next Friday (December 12th) is Parents Night Out. Parents, be sure to register soon.

Also, please keep Alison Bryan and family in your prayers as her grandfather in eastern Tennessee has passed away. They will be gone this weekend for the funeral.
