If you are not a member of Advent, you may join on any Sunday.  Many persons will be joining this Sunday morning.  You simply need to complete one of the yellow cards (ask any elder or pastor before or after worship) and be able to answer the questions on the membership covenant in the affirmative.  Attending the "Introduction to Advent" class is not a pre-requisite, but is highly encouraged either before or after you join Advent.

 

PLEASE ATTEND BOTH THE 9:00 am AND 11:00 am SERVICES TOMORROW IF YOU CAN.  There will be a special time of commissioning at both services during which we will be set apart to the mission of witnessiing to Jesus Christ in the Arlington and Lakeland communities.  It will be a special time of blessing for Advent and for each of us.  There will be a reception following worship in Lindsay Hall to celebrate this important occasion.  Invite friends and family. If you or your family has not had a photo taken yet, please get it done tomorrow.  We desire to put together a photo directory in the not-so-distant future.

 

Want to go to Huddle?  A van will be provided to shuttle teens from the parking lot of Advent at Arlington to Advent Cordova each week beginning this Sunday.  Be at the church at 4:15 pm to depart.  Be sure to sign the rider log with parental contact information the first time you come.  Volunteer drivers are needed so that we may make a schedule for Sunday evenings.  Wednesday nights are a possibility too, depending upon the level of interest that we find. 

 

It is my prayer that each person's gifts will be used to grow Advent at Arlington.  We will be discussing spiritual gifts tomorrow during the final "Introduction to Advent" class.  I have already given everyone a sheet listing various jobs and positions that we will need to fill to accomplish the work of the church.  Some of you have already replied to me indicating which roles you feel called to now.  If you have not, I encourage you to do so as soon as possible.  Over the next few weeks I hope that we can organize ourselves and begin making specific plans and preparation for what is to come.

 

We are in need of more singers and musicians to form our praise team.  Chris Cardona will be our worship leader, but he needs some help.  If you are interested, give Chris a call at 901-849-8219 or just show up at rehearsal.  Speaking of which, the Praise Team Rehearsal will be at the Arlington Church each Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
