Greetings!

Hello again from Grayson!  Students have once again returned and school is in session. It is so exciting to have the hallways you are kcu 2buzzing with activity after a long summer!  Now that summer is behind us, its time to look ahead to our upcoming Homecoming festivities on October 8th-9th. I'm certainly hoping you'll make plans to join us for some or all of Homecoming Weekend.

Here's an overview of the exciting events planned for the 2010 KCU Fall Homecoming. More details and registration info can be found on the alumni page of the KCU website.

aaConcert with Audio Adrenaline and Know Hope Collective - We're thrilled to welcome home alums Mark Stuart and Will McGinnis from Audio Adrenaline along with the Know Hope Collective. The Collective, featuring Mark, Will, and some of their favorite voices of emerging worship have put together an evening that will not only bring back the Grammy award winning sounds of Audio Adrenaline, but will also encourage audiences of all ages with stories of hope and mission, and lead them into an intimate and unforgettable night of worship. Join us at 8:30 pm on Friday, Oct. 8th in the Nash Chapel. Tickets required; see sign-up form.

Class Reunions

News & Notes from KCU
Hey Northeast OH Alumni...Join us This Saturday!

Come Tailgate With Us This Saturday!

The Alumni office would love to have you join us THIS SATURDAY in Canton, OH as the Knights take on Walsh University at the historic Fawcett Stadium in Canton, adjacent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Dr. Metcalf will be joining us for this road trip, and would love a chance to meet with you, answer questions, and share some pre-game grub. If you're planning to come, give us a heads up at alumni@kcu.edu . Feel free to bring any and all tailgating supplies, snacks to share, etc. We'll be there by 10:30, and we'll have the hotdogs and drinks ready by 11:00 (game is a 12:00 kick-off). We would love to have you join us, so if you're in striking distance of northeastern Ohio, plan to come! (We'll bring along some affordable KCU T-shirts if you want to 'gear up' for the game; email us your size if interested so we can make sure to bring it!) If you need directions you can find them here.

Knights Football Is Underway!
Knights football
For a large number of us, it still might seem a little unusual to mention the phrase "KCU Football." But it's here, and it's the real deal! Why not take a road trip to catch the Knights this season as they continue to pave their way in the Mid-South Conference. There are a number of games and locations to choose from on the schedule, and hopefully there's a game near you!

If you're not able to attend a game, you can follow the action online at www.wgohwugo.com as Tim Carper and Mic Marshall (both KCU Alums) cover every game on the KCU Sports Radio Network. Click any of radiothe following links for more info on this year's KCU Football Knights!

Nationally Televised Game This Saturday
Sports Time Ohio will carry a delayed telecast of the KCU/Walsh University game on Saturday, Sept. 4th @ 6:00 pm Eastern time. This channel is available through DirecTV and Dish Network. The game is a 12:00 noon game, being played at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. To the best of our knowledge, this is KCU's first nationally televised sporting event.

Our first full week of school is also our Impact Your World week on campus. This week we're welcoming Steve Daugherty of Crosspointe Church in Cary NC and  Warren French ('02) who has spent the bulk of his time since graduation working in Haiti. They're with us for a week of challenge and inspiration, under the heading Until The Whole World Hears, our theme for the year. During the week, students will participate in a food packing project through Lifeline Christian Mission, and our goal is to pack
Debbie Metcalf and a group of students working at the food bagging event during Impact Your World week.
Bagging crew
enough food to feed around 60,000 people in Haiti and other developing countries. This year, the KCU community will be partnering with a number of Alumni who are involved in missions personally and through organizations, as well as church planting. Each of our missions partners has a unique KCU alumni connection. Pray for us as we strive to not only meet our goal, but see God stretch our students through our Faith Promise commitments at the end of the week.

Patron Knights

Patron Knight program off to a great start

PK webPatron Knights is a new stewardship program for Alumni designed to help you easily partner with your Alma Mater and our ministry of Christian Higher Education.

We're excited at the early response and enthusiasm from many of our alumni family. Have you considered joining us? We've developed the program to be both easy and affordable. A gift of $25 a month makes you a member, and you can set up your contributions to be automatic, withdrawn on the dates of your choosing. We even have a very nice "Thank-You" gift we'll mail out once you join. Please take a moment to check out the details on the Alumni page at kcu.edu and prayfully consider partnering with us as a Patron Knight. Our mission today is just as critical as it has always been, and your involvement with us us is just as vital.

If you have suggestions or comments about the E-insider, don't hesitate to pass them along. In the meantime, we would love to have you visit. Homecoming would be a great time to come back to campus to both rekindle the memories and reconnect with old friends. We want you to be proud of your alma mater, and feel confident that once you get to know us 'all over again,' you'll be impressed with all that is going on here in the foothills.

This is a critical time in our history, and our Alumni family is more important than ever. We need your support, both financially and through constant and fervent prayer. And we need you to send us young men and women as God raises us the next generation of Christian leaders.

Please keep in touch. Take a minute to join Knightline, and let us know what's going on in your world.
For HIS Fame,
