KCU Alumni News Update
Greetings!

The campus is starting to come to life as new students begin to trickle back to Grayson. Though most students start arriving next weekend, a number of student athletes are already on campus getting ready for their respective seasons.

We're preparing the next issue of the E-Insider, but thought there were a few things to pass along now. So take a minute to check out these items and watch for a full-blown E-Insider in the very near future!

Until the Whole World Hears,

The Collective, featuring Mark, Will and some of their favorite emerging voices of worship, have put together an evening that will not only bring back the Grammy award winning sounds of Audio Adrenaline, but will also encourage audiences of all ages with stories of hope and mission, and lead them into an intimate and unforgettable night of worship. We're still putting together all of the details for this great weekend, including special guests, KCU athletic events, Alumni banquet,  reunions, Alumni bonfire, a motorcycle ride, crowning of 2010 Fall Homecoming Queen, and lots more.

The events will conclude on Saturday as the KCU Knights football team takes on the University of Virginia-Wise. Watch for more Fall Homecoming details as they develop through the E-Insider and the KCU website. Mark your calendars and join us October 8-9!

Since 1983, Summer in the Son has been a powerful ministry arm of Kentucky Christian University, and this year was no exception. Over 2100 students and adult leaders joined us for two High School weeks and one Jr. High week. Leading our worship this summer were KCU alums Aaron and Emily Pelsue. Also joining our programming for the summer were alums Chris Duncan and Dan Smith.
Plans are being made for the summer of 2011. Watch our website for details at www.summerintheson.org.
KCU Connection to Afghanistan Aid Workers
One of the aid workers who was killed this past weekend in Afghanistan was Cheryl Beckett, the daughter of Charles ('77) and Mary Beckett. Charles is the Sr. Minister of the Woodlawn Christian Church in Knoxville, TN. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Beckett family and their entire church body. If you would like to read more about Cheryl and her work, here is a link to local Knoxville media. Cards can be sent to Charles at Woodlawn Christian Church, 4339 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.
