Why Not Visit Us in 2010?

Greetings!

When was the last time you had an opportunity to visit the campus of KCU? We hear from many alumni who were thrilled to finally make the trip after many years of being away from campus. Though our heartbeat remains the same, much has changed about the physical makeup of the campus. A return visit will not only help you rekindle the many memories that make KCU special to you, but will also give you a glimpse into the terrific ministry that is still taking place 90 years after we began.

So why not plan a visit sometime this year? There are plenty of KCUopportunities throughout the course of the school year to visit. Many like to come and join us for Chapel on a Tuesday or Friday and then join us for lunch. Other options include joining us for our Homecoming Weekend in the Fall, or perhaps taking in our yearly Feast of Christmas event.

Is it time for a class reunion? We would love for your class or special group of friends to plan a get-together, especially during the Fall Homecoming festivities. Give me a call and I'll be glad to brainstorm some ideas for your group.

I know what its like to be away from campus for a long while. But I also know what a great reminder it was to finally step back on campus, to get swallowed up by the singing in Chapel, and to walk those halls and sidewalks that were so important during my college experience. Consider joining us this year and re-connecting with KCU.

Covenant Church Program Going Strong
"The partnership between the University and the local church is vital to the health and well-being of our Christian movement and our mutual commitment to the Great Commission." - Dr. Keith Keeran

The Covenant Church Program is designed to benefit congregations that are supporting partners with Kentucky Christian University. Covenant Churches are important stakeholders who have a vested interest in Christian higher education.

There are a number of significant benefits for churches who partner with KCU at the Covenant Church level. Those benefits include:
  • A $2000 per year scholarship to EACH qualifying students from Covenant Church congregations
  • 50% - 100% tuition scholarship in the Graduate School of Bible and Ministry in KCU's Masters Degree Program for full-time staff members of Covenant Churches
  • 2 FREE registrations to Summer In The Son each year!
  • 40% discount on KCU training seminars
This is a tremendous program that allows churches to link arms with KCU, while at the same time enjoying several key benefits specific to church ministry.

Summer In The Son 2010

With many great artists such as Tenth Avenue North, Robbie Seay Band, Remedy Drive, Danny Ray, the David Crowder Band, and Fireflight. All of that anchored by worship led by fellow alumnus Aaron Pelsue, speakers such as Chris Duncan (alumni), Steve Daugherty, and Danny Curry this summer has unlimited potential. We would love to have you or your church join us for one of these life-changing events.

As many alumni already know, Summer In the Son has been known to be life-altering for the students that attend. Any effort you can make to get your church to join us will be worth it in so many ways. Betty Watson Jones ('73), Greg Wallace ('88), and Audio A
  • Congratulations to Dr. Betty Jones, who was recently named to the University of Georgia Teaching Academy, nominated for outstanding teaching by her peers. Dr. Jones served on the KCU faculty from 1976-1995.
  • Congratulations to Dr. Greg Wallace, who was presented with the Doctor of Education Degree from East Tennessee State University this past December. Dr. Wallace serves as Project Director of the HEROES Initiative (Helping Everyone Reach Optimum Excellence and Success), a federally funded program that serves the Johsnon City (TN) School System as well as other community initiaties on behalf of children.
  • Though Audio Adrenaline stopped touring as a band a couple of years ago, their ministry continues to thrive through the Hands & Feet Orphanage in Jacmel, Haiti. Lead singer Mark Stuart was visiting the orphanage when the earthquake struck, and he and other HAF personnel found themselves in the middle of some amazing ministry opportunities. Find out more at www.handsandfeetproject.org.
