May, 2012 - Vol 6, Issue 5
Greetings!

Please join me in welcoming  two new members to our council team to support you, our volunteers.

Gary Roach, Stevens District Coordinator
Gary started his
Scouting involvement in 1st grade in Grand Island, Nebraska.  He enjoyed his time in Troop 120 where they specialized in traditional Pawnee and Plains Indian dances.  He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with this troop.  He has a degree in Business Management, with a minor in Project Management.  He enjoys spending time with his family, wife Elaine and two children, Alysha and William.  Gary and his son participated in a 50 miler in 2009 in the St. Joe Clearwater area with his son's troop, and claims to have had the greatest experience of his life.

Evan Pollock, Hayden Service Center Manager & Registrar

Evan Pollock started Scouting as a Wolf Scout in Vancouver, WA in Cascade Pacific Council.  He continued through the program to receive his Eagle Scout with Troop 648 and Vigil Honor with the Order of the Arrow.  Evan has an Associates of Arts from Clark College in Vancouver and a Bachelors of Arts in Outdoor Recreation from Eastern Washington University. You may recognize Evan from his work on the ScoutReach team and on staff at Camp Grizzly and Cub Country at Cowles Scout Reservation.

Please help us extend a warm welcome to Gary and Evan.

CS Party Invitation

What if you could participate in an activity that would make your boys happy, creative, smart, calm, kind, strong and healthy, would you attend? Well you can! They are called Cub Scout Summer Activities. According to a report published by the National Wildlife Federation, getting our kids outdoors (Cub Scout Camping) provides all these benefits. 2013 National Jamboree is COMING!

There is an ugly rumor circulating that the Inland Northwest Council's 2013 National Jamboree troop is FULL!   Yikes! It has NOT filled up yet. In fact we want you to help us spread the word that there are still many spots available for those youth that want to be a part of making history. This will be the first Jamboree at its new permanent home, the Bechtel Summit.   To learn more about the Bechtel Summit, check out its Facebook page. This trip to the Jamboree is also made up of memorable visits to Washington, DC, the Smithsonian, Arlington National Cemetery, a water park, and so much more. Click Here to learn more about this amazing adventure that awaits you or to register TODAY!
