Message from the president
 
Board, teachers and staffDear all,
As we are looking forward to a promising summer educational program and an exciting new cultural season, I would like to take a moment and thank our wonderful teachers and volunteers for their commitment this past year.

Following last Friday's elections, I am pleased to reveal the composition of our new Board of Directors:

President: Pascale Fougeres-Mercier
Vice President: Maeva McNicol
Treasurer: Benjamin Partout
Secretary: Isabelle Roy-Fogarty
Member at large: Susanna Hernandez-Peredo.

The board members and myself will continue to work hard in maintaining the highest educational and cultural standards that you have come to expect from a renowned association such as the Alliance Francaise.

Summer French classes
 
Open to adults and teens (16 years old and up):
- French 101, 102, 103
- Conversation A2, B1 and B2
 
Kids classes:
 
- Smart Steps for French learners (from 5 to 15 years old)
- Workshops for all kids: on July 14th (Bastille Day) and August 11th (A trip to Africa) for all.
Max. 10 students/class. Stimulus plan for all returning students.
Registration fee is complimentary until June 4th.

Fall session for adults and after-school program for children will resume on Sept. 13th. Registration opens in late July.

Bonjours et Au revoirs
We are happy to welcome two new staff members this month:
 
Annie Milleret our new French-Canadian teacher who will be in charge of Smart Steps for the 5 to 7 years old in July.
And Kaitlin Sugg, a USD student, who welcomes you at the front desk on Tuesdays and Wednesdays afternoon.
 
Please note that our instructor Benedicte Neycken is our new Educational Coordinator while Anne-Laure Le Reverend provides Consulting in Education and Development.

The Board and staff would like to thank Marie Aulanier, who is moving back to France, for organizing storytelling times for the little ones this year. Her time and dedication to this program were greatly appreciated.

Good luck also to Djara Injai and Julien Martinez, our French interns who are going back to Sciences-Po Paris. We would like to thank them for their help this year.
 
We also wish all the best to our instructor Anu who is going back to college in Chicago to pursue her studies and career in theater. We are looking forward to welcome her back soon with a great new show!
Fete de la Musique

Since 1982, the Fete de la Musique has regaled generations of music fans in more than 100 countries around the world and is present for the second year in San Diego. We invite you to come and celebrate this French popular tradition with us.

Hike and speak French

As usual, there will be an informal picnic after the hike. Please bring cheese, fruits or bread to share.



George is organizing an overnight camping trip to Rancho Cuyamaca State Park on Saturday July 17. If you are interested in participating, please contact us.

Despite the chilly weather, Francophones and Francophiles gathered at Kate O. Sessions Park for the annual picnic organized by Vincent Michel.
Fun, French food, nice company and informal presentations of the local Franco-American associations were on the menu on May, 23rd.
