French 101, 102, 103 & Conversation A2, B1 and B2 open to teens (16 years old and up) and adults.
Kids classes: French Smart Steps from 5 to 15 years old.

| French Women who served in the Resistance |  Heroines Francaises: A Discussion with Monique Saigal

The Alliance Francaise de San Diego, in collaboration with the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, presents an evening with Monique Saigal, Professor of Romance Languages and Literature at Pomona College in Claremont, California.
Dr. Saigal will discuss her book, Heroines francaises, 1940-1945: Courage, Force et Ingeniosite, a series of portraits of French Women who served in the Resistance.
The author will share the ties between the stories of these extraordinary women and her own childhood as a Jewish child hidden in a Catholic family during World War II.

Hosted by Marie on Wednesday, May 12th from 10:30am to 11:30am.
Children must be accompanied by a parent at all times. All are welcome. Free for members. Non-members: $5 at the door.
Marie is moving back to France with her family and will be hosting her last Storytime on May 12th.
If you ever participated in the program, religiously or just once, and you wish to thank Marie for the wonderful stories, crafts and baked goods she shared with you during the past few months, make sure you stop by and wish her a safe journey back home!
We will miss Marie dearly and we wish her and her family the very best in their new endeavors. |

 Our teacher Madeline has moved to San Francisco in early April and we all miss her a lot! She has promised her students to come back in the Fall to teach a Saturday workshop. Madeline is still teaching private lessons on-line via Skype. Contact us for more details.
Our French 103 participants experienced a real life situation at Eurofood Depot on Saturday May 1st. Their teacher Christine organized a one hour class in the store to learn about and taste French food. Thank you to Eurofood Depot for their support in education.

Our members and guests attended the play, "A weekend with Pablo Picasso" on April 9th.
The actor-writer Herbert Siguenza (playing Picasso) delivered an amazing performance on stage.
Siguenza shared the art of Picasso, his proclamations about ambition, destruction, creativity, love, God, beauty, patriotism, eternity and art as an agent of social change.
The audience also admired the talent of Siguenza throughout his paintings and drawings on stage. Our most sincere thanks to Phillip Limas and the San Diego Repertory Theater for making this event possible.
