Mountain bikes are recommended for this ride. Difficulty: easy mostly flat with some short down and up hills. Distance: 5-6 miles. Rides are easy and we take it slowly. We make occasional stops and it is an opportunity to socialize, talk in French and share rides stories and experiences. Please, contact Didier to rsvp.

Lecture in French. Free for members. $5 for non-members. Presented id collaboration with USD Department of Languages and Literatures.
Ralantoaritsimba will offer an intimate look at the travel logs written by
French women traveling to California during the Gold Rush Era until 1902. She
will review in details the excitement, dangers and difficulties they encountered
as they often traveled alone at a time when making the voyage from France
was nothing less than a perilous adventure.

Our teens and parents braved the chilly weather on March 5th to learn
basketball skills in French and played a game at Nobel Athletic Fields
and Recreation Center. Thank you Mehdi for a fun afternoon and go Aztecs!

Flying Ace receives French Legion of Honor
|

|
Steven N. Pisanos, a World War II double ace, was awarded the French
Legion of Honor Medal by David Martinon, Consul General of France at a
ceremony at the San Diego Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park on March
6th. Pisanos was a fighter pilot during WWII. When his P-51 Mustang
crashed over German-occupied Normany, he survived, and fought with the
French Resistance until the war ended.

Lierac Event

Jacqueline Flam Stokes, Lierac US Director of Marketing & Sales, gave an insightful presentation of the French brand philosophy and history. She presented the challenges associated with the launching of a French cosmeceutical brand on the American market and gave detailed examples of the cultural differences in the habits and expectations of French and American women in terms of skin and body care. Attendees were also able to try the newest products from the brand. They received a personalized skin consultation and left with a very nice gift bag courtesy of Lierac San Diego representative, Sabine Wallez.

Open House

We hosted our second Open House this year, with a selection of books from European Bookstore.
Our volunteers, teachers and board members welcomed new and returning students and members as well as visitors inquiring about our classes and events. We also celebrated the Francophonie week with a French Songs workshop presented by Anne-Laure. |
