The Connection
Minnesota Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Alliance

March 22, 2012

Greetings!

There's lots of action happening - and needed! - in the days ahead. Please join us in saying no to divisive measures such as the Voter ID bill in the Minnesota Senate, and the anti-marriage amendment headed to a public vote this fall. Your voice for choice is needed, too.

We also invite you to join us at the Prairie Star District Annual Conference in mid-April right here in Minnesota. We're working closely with the District on a special pre-conference social justice training "Imagining a Peace Dividend: The Economics of Peace and War" on Friday, April 13th.

And one more important event: MUUSJA's annual General Meeting is Sunday, April 29th. We will be sharing the results of our Appreciative Inquiry process that so many of you participated in. We're exited to be talking with you about how together we are shaping the next three to five years of UU justice-making in Minnesota. Watch for a detailed invite early next month.

VOTER RIGHTS
Rally to stop Voter Disenfranchisement
Friday, March 23, 12:30pm
MN Capitol, rm 112
75 MLK Blvd., Saint Paul

The next step for the Photo ID amendment is a Minnesota Senate floor vote. If we are going to keep Photo ID off the ballot, it has to happen in the Senate. That's why we need you there, and we need your help to pack the Capitol to tell our legislators we want every eligible voter to be able to vote. Our election system is strong. We reject this unnecessary photo ID requirement!

Want to do more? Future Meetings of MUUSJA/AUW Voter Rights will the 3rd Saturday of each month until the election at First Universalist Church, Room 204, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. April 21st is the next meeting!
