The shutdown is over and summer is here in full! But the work of justice continues! 

Mindful that the UUA has designated Immigration as a study/action issue, and as we look towards the Justice GA in Arizona next June, a thoughtful and engaging four week film series on immigration begins tonight and runs Thursday evenings at 7pm through August 11th.

HIRE Rally for Jobs, July 12, 2011

Thursday evening, July 28, join with us as our partner organization HIRE Minnesota hosts their quarterly coalition meeting. In the face of a difficult legislative session, HIRE succeeded in fending off drastic cuts to the Minnesota Department of Human Rights budget, and helped turn back a bill to eliminate pay-equity reporting for women in the public sector. HIRE is doing great work for racial justice - celebrate and learn more next Thursday!

And, enjoy a summer evening on the beautiful patio at First Unitarian Society as MUUSJA EcoMinds hosts a summer potluck gathering on Tuesday, August 2nd. We'll learn about 350.org's Moving Planet, a global day of action slated for September 24th.

Moving Planet, the 350.org Global Day of Action for to move the planet off fossil fuels, will have a big event in St. Paul on Saturday, September 24th - and people of faith are organizing a special procession!  Add a other few short EcoMinds business items, for a mix of fun and accomplishment!  Plenty of cool beverages provided.
