I've been busily creating several custom commissioned collage paintings, as well as preparing art for scheduled exhibitions, and enjoying every minute! Here's a glimpse of what has been going on in my studio lately: |
New Custom Commissioned Art Piece
Custom work has become an important part of my art business, as each year I make many custom commissioned pieces for individual collectors, businesses, hospitals, banks, doctor's offices, and hotels. I LOVE creating custom commissioned artwork! Here is a photo of a newly finished, musical theme collage painting I made for a dear collector of mine. I enjoyed examining her own splendid musical instrument collection for inspiration, and I incorporated words that hold special meaning to her.

5 Reasons to Commission Your Own Custom Work of Art
1. The work can be made to accommodate any space; any decor's color scheme (working closely with your decorator); any subject matter. Think about what you like, your personality, your occupation, your hobbies, your collections. What might you like depicted in a piece of art for your own home or business: a family pet, your Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, a favorite vacation spot, or that lovely tree in your own backyard?
2. The collage painting can incorporate collage materials that hold special meaning to you, such as family photos, love letters, maps, mementos, antique documents, newspaper clippings etc. I only use scans of any heirlooms or personal documents that you hold dear, so your memorabilia will remain intact. I have even used close-up photographs of the paisley pattern in an antique heirloom oriental carpet!
3. Consider ordering a custom collage painting to commemorate a wedding, child's birth, a milestone birthday, or anniversary.
4. The commission process is easy. It starts with a no-cost meeting to understand your art needs. Then I prepare a project proposal and agreement outlining the project as discussed. For a small sketch fee, I make at least three rough illustrations from which you can select your own compositional arrangement, and at that time I accept 1/2 payment for the piece. Then I make your custom artwork, only accepting the final payment upon completion. I am currently scheduling custom work out about 10 months for completion.
5. You will own an original, one-of-a-kind art piece that was made just for you!

Spring Forward... the time that is.
Be sure to mark
your calendars for
Daylight-Saving-Time on Sunday March 8th,
and spring your clock forward one hour.
(Daylight-Saving-Time is not observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the state of Arizona...I learned that the hard way once!)

"Whether I'm painting or not, I have this overwhelming interest in humanity. Even if I'm not working, I'm still analyzing people." Alice Neel
