It has been pouring down rain the last few days, and the weather has finally turned cool in our area. We really need some rain after many months of drought, and the plants are soaking it up. Thanksgiving which is one of my very favorite holidays is right around the corner, and I am looking forward to our large family gatherings, tournaments of Uno, roasted turkey and grandma's pumpkin pie. Over the years my art studio business has evolved to accommodate the needs of a changing art market. Currently, much of my studio work is devoted to creating custom commissioned artwork for private individuals, corporations, and public art venues. I greatly enjoy creating custom pieces for my clients' specific art needs. Above is a photo showing a portion of detail from a very large collage painting that will be installed in a medical facility in Northern CA. Happily, one of my neighbor's children expertly modeled for me while pretending to skateboard in my studio. The National Museum of Women in the Arts
is located in Washington DC
around the corner from the White House
I am very pleased to announce that I have been invited to include my "exhibition history" and "bio" in the Archives of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC, the only museum in the world dedicated exclusively to recognizing the contributions of women artists. I had the pleasure of visiting this fine museum several years ago while I was traveling on the East Coast to one of my exhibitions in Virginia, and it is an honor to have been invited. Their Archives on Women Artists include more than 18,000 research files on individual women artists of all periods and nationalities. These files include artists' resumes, correspondence, exhibition catalogues and announcements, reproductions or artwork (slides and photographs), and newspaper and magazine articles and reviews.
