Artistic Greetings...
School has started, and it is nice to be back into a scheduled routine, at least for now.  I have more time to devote to creating collages.  Here is what has been going on in my studio lately.
Mark your calendars for the
KVIE on-air art auction.

Inspirational Trip
peaceful flight
We just returned from an enjoyable trip to Santa Barbara, CA where the weather was wonderfully refreshing.  We enjoyed walking around the picturesque downtown community and visiting area galleries in the neighboring community of Montecito. I am amazed at the lovely flowers that grow everywhere...literally on nearly every fence are vivid colored blooms of Hibiscus and Bougainvillea.  We also toured the countryside near HWY 154 where we were surprised to find hidden grape vineyards and sprawling wineries.  We spent one very enjoyable day visiting the Santa Barbara Mission, known as the "Queen of the Missions," where the speckled antique patina of the masonry stones and old iron work captivated my attention. I took lots of photographs for future reference while I'm thinking of new work to do on a Santa Barbara theme.  Inspiration is a wonderful thing, and so are vacations!  Visit the following websites to see more of this lovely community.

The Pence Gallery Art Auction is an annual event to raise funds for the non-profit gallery's exhibit and education programs. Visitors can enjoy previewing over 100 works of fine art by top local and regional artists prior to the event, followed by a lively evening of music, wine, and cuisine by area restaurants during the live and silent auction forums on Sept. 13. Sponsored by Boutin-Dentino. I am pleased to have a piece of art in this fundraising exhibition. See the gallery website for more information:
