Artistic Greetings...
As the limited number of summer days begin to be counted, and the kids reluctantly begin thinking about preparing for school, let's reflect a bit. Here is what has been going on in my studio lately. | |
Art Show at Pacific Grove Art Center in Pacific Grove, California
I am pleased to have my collage painting titled, "Playing Soccer" chosen for exhibition at the "Interactions Show" for the Society of Layerists in Multi-Media. The Juror is Andrea Schwartz, owner of Andrea Schwartz Gallery, San Francisco. The thought provoking show will feature work that refers to personal and interpersonal interactions in time or space. It will be interesting to see how diversely the artists consider that theme. I hope you can come to the show. See the details below for date and time.

A Favorite Art Making Memory
I would like to share one of my favorite art making moments with you. Many years ago when our oldest daughter was just a toddler, she was sitting at my drafting table right next to me while I was working on a piece of artwork. She has always liked to paint or draw with me, but this day was extraordinary. You see, I had recently begun experimenting using bits of torn paper in my artwork, and I was busy tearing up magazine pages for use in future collages. My very ambitious toddler did the same, and turned to me proudly to say, "Look mommy, I can make garbage too!" Out of the mouth of babes..... |
