TriQuint Acquires TriAccessTriQuint Expands Cable Portfolio - Acquires TriAccess Technologies
TriQuint has acquired TriAccess Technologies, a leading provider of Cable TV (CATV) and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) integrated circuits, that enable 'Triple-play' (Internet, video and voice) high-quality multimedia content.  The acquisition expands TriQuint's product line of highly-efficient 'green' amplifiers and critical technology for cost-effectively enabling cable operators to offer wide bandwidth, 2-way services.  TriAccess' RF components provide better performance - higher bandwidth, better linearity, lower noise and reduced power consumption to reduce operational costs.
Huawei & TriQuint 'Partnership'Huawei & TriQuint Announce 'Strategic Partnership'
TriQuint has signed a memo of understanding (MOU) with Huawei Technologies to supply highly-efficient 'green' PAs as a 'Strategic Partner' to Huawei, a global leader in next-generation telecom solutions.  TriQuint will work closely with Huawei to develop optical network products with lower power usage.  TriQuint amplifiers include the TGA4943-SL which uses half the power of other 40 Gb/s PAs.  "We are impressed with TriQuint's high-quality products and professional technical support," said Qinya Hua, Manager of Transport Networks, Huawei.

New Broadband Products for 'Green' Design
Network operators are seeing an increased need for backhaul capacity driven by growing home and mobile device data applications.  The dilemma?  Increase microwave, cable and optical network backhaul capacity economically.  The solution?  TriQuint broadband products.  TriQuint's wide selection of 'green' products include amplifiers that can reduce power consumption up to 50%. "TriQuint GaAs-based products are inherently more efficient.  TriQuint is in a good position.  We project 14% CAGR for cable, and up to 78% CAGR for 40Gb/s RFICs through 2013," said Asif Anwar, Strategy Analytics Dir., GaAs & Semiconductor Service.
TriQuint Satisfies 3G/4G Network Needs
High-capacity backhaul networks need linear power to support the explosive growth of smartphones and other high-bandwidth traffic.  The increasingly complex modulation schemes they typically require also demand linear power-performance delivered by TriQuint's new TGA2706-SM.  "3G and 4G systems offer improved performance, but these new microwave designs also need linear PAs.  TriQuint's new TGA2706-SM really delivers," said James Nelson, Product Marketing Manager. Contact TriQuint for design need solutions.
Highly-Linear TGA4531 Can Replace 2 Conventional PAs
TriQuint's new TGA4531 offers 3G/4G microwave designers the highly-linear performance they need for systems that expand network backhaul capacity.  Unlike other PAs, the TGA4531 covers the critical 17-24 GHz frequency range with a single, die-level device.  "The ever-increasing demand for mobile data and access to social media websites and new generations of smartphones, MIDs and Netbooks are forcing network expansion.  Manufacturers can find the highly-linear performance they need in TGA4531- one device for two critical frequencies," said Networks Product Marketing Manager James Nelson.  Contact product marketing for more information.
TriQuint Expands Networks Ad Campaign
Our latest Networks ad campaign - focusing on how TriQuint's infrastructure products 'Simplify RF Connectivity' - now includes advertisements showcasing our PtP radio and VSAT product offerings.  This ad series features TriQuint and its employees as "Your Technical Connection" for design tips through our new web resource:  www.triquint.com/tech-connect.  Watch for TriQuint's other new application-specific advertisements.

DARPA Awards TriQuint $16.2M Contract for Advanced GaN R&D
TriQuint has received a $16.2 million contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop radically-advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) circuits.  The new devices-unlike anything created before-will push the frequency and dynamic range for GaN applications to new heights.  "This is 'game changing' technology," said Dr. David Fanning, TriQuint's contract manager for the new program, dubbed Nitride Electrical NeXt-Generation Technology (NEXT) program by DARPA.  "TriQuint has advanced GaN research since 1999 and NEXT has the potential to go way beyond that-as far as today's PCs are from 1980's computers."
Two New GaAs RF Devices Offer Flexibility, Economy for Defense Applications
TriQuint's new duo of packaged 4 GHz discrete RF transistors offer wide-ranging flexibility and economy for defense, aerospace and commercial applications including mobile devices and wireless base stations.  The TGF2021-04-SG is a 4W device; the TGF2021-08-SG provides 7W P1dB.  These new GaAs pHEMT packaged devices are sampling now, and offer the flexibility of high-performance narrowband or wideband operation, from 20 MHz to 4 GHz.  Contact product marketing for more information.
