TriQuint Q2 Revenue up 42%
TriQuint issued results for Q2'09, including $169 million in revenue, up 42% from Q1'09 (up 33% from Q2'08.) Net income was $0.03 per share ($0.08 per share Non-GAAP.) Sales and earnings exceeded expectations on the strength of handset and defense & aerospace product revenue. Gross margin improved significantly over the first quarter with increased factory utilization and flat inventory. TriQuint estimates that third quarter 2009 revenue will be between $170 million and $180 million. Third quarter net income is expected to range between $0.05 and $0.07 per share and non-GAAP net income is expected to range between $0.08 and $0.10 per share.* |
TriQuint Wins 2009 System/Hardware Company of the Year
TriQuint was named the 2009 System/Hardware Company of the Year by the Oregon chapter of TechAmerica. The award recognizes TriQuint's growth, innovation and contribution to the community. In accepting the award Ralph Quinsey, CEO said "I am so proud of all TriQuint employees. This award is a testament to the ingenuity of individuals working together to deliver customers real value." |
ZTE & TriQuint Sign $50M Agreement ZTE & TriQuint signed an agreement stating ZTE will procure at least $50M in TriQuint CDMA, GSM, and WCDMA ASICs for wireless communications in 2009. The agreement was formalized at an event organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery and Electronic Products. |

Next-Generation GaN Resources Now Online TriQuint has been a GaN R&D leader since 1999. After recent selection as leader for Phase III of DARPA's Gallium Nitride program, TriQuint set out to make its considerable GaN resources available online. TriQuint has already released high-power / high-frequency GaN products and has worked with GaN foundry customers since 2004. This website addition provides one convenient location for TriQuint GaN information.

Agilent Unveils Process Design Kit for TriQuint E/D pHEMT process
Agilent released a powerful new PDK to support TriQuint's TQPED GaAs E/D pHEMT process. The PDK renovates layout functions, adds many design automation and routing capabilities, provides a MMIC toolbar personality and includes substrate definitions for Agilent's integrated 3-D planar EM simulator, Momentum. Together these features help streamline the MMIC design process and decrease design cycle time. The PDK is available now directly from TriQuint. |
TriQuint Remains World's Number One GaAs Foundry
Strategy Analytics' latest research indicates TriQuint remains the world's number one GaAs foundry, building on commercial opportunities and benefiting from ongoing engagements with the US defense industry. The report notes dual-sourcing and fabless strategies are becoming more prominent in the GaAs industry, and "cheap silicon" in the economic downturn may prove too expensive for start-up companies targeting niche and emerging markets. |
| AWR Adds TriQuint Devices to Microwave Office
AWR's Microwave Office design software users now have access to XML library data for a broad array of TriQuint microwave amplifiers. The library provides measurement-based models and footprints used for printed circuit board (PCB) and module layouts. The XML components are created and provided by TriQuint ensuring that the model is accurate and represents TriQuint's concept of how the part should function. |

TriQuint will host its annual three day Process Technology & Design Class November 3-5, 2009 in Hillsboro, OR. Kyocera Names TriQuint 'RF Supplier of the Year' For the 3rd year in a row, Kyocera's Wireless Division has awarded TriQuint 'RF Supplier of the Year' in recognition of TriQuint's performance in five categories: Technology, Quality, Responsiveness, Delivery and Cost. Kyocera utilizes multiple TriQuint front-end modules and switches for use in its line of CDMA phones.

DARPA Chooses TriQuint as GaN R&D Leader
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has designated TriQuint as lead for Phase III of a multi-year gallium nitride (GaN) R&D contract administrated through the Army Research laboratory (ARL). The $16.5 million award comes in recognition of TriQuint surpassing goals established for Phase II. TriQuint has been a leader in GaN research and development for both defense and civilian applications since 1999. |
DoD Accredits TriQuint as 'Trusted Foundry'
The Department of Defense has accredited TriQuint's gallium arsenide (GaAs) 100mm foundry in Richardson, TX as a Category 1A 'Trusted Foundry' - the highest level awarded by the Department. Accreditation is an assurance that TriQuint's processes meet stringent security and quality requirements.
