New PA is 1st SMT for 40Gb/s Opto Market

TriQuint's newest driver amplifier is the market's first surface-mount technology (SMT) device for emerging 40Gb/s optical communications networks. Offering easier assembly, the new TGA4943-SL also consumes only about 50% (2.1 Watts) compared to conventional solutions. TriQuint has also released a new 10Gb/s optical driver PA (TGA4956-SM) that provides SMT convenience in a smaller package, plus greater efficiency for lower overall system power usage. Read more...
Base Station Ad Highlights New Technical Resource
TriQuint has launched new ads for base station RF designers focusing on the need for highly-efficient, highly linear devices in 3G and 4G applications.  The new series also points to another TriQuint 'Technical Connection' online resource that simplifies design support for engineers.  TriQuint and Modelithics™ have added a selection of non-linear models to the base station page, to enable more accurate and faster RF designs.

TriQuint Modules Reach Half Billion Milestone; Product Family Expands

TriQuint has shipped more than a half billion RF modules to mobile device manufacturers.  In February, we expanded our module offerings by introducing a new TRITIUM III PA-Duplexer Module™, the TQM626028, for band 8 and a new QUANTUM II Tx Module™, TQM6M9014, for GSM/GPRS/EDGE applications. Together, these products add support for an additional 3G band to TriQuint's WCDMA/HSUPA solution.
Introducing TRIUMF:  Next Generation 3G Converged RF Architecture for Mobile Devices
At this year's GSMA show, we introduced the TRIUMF Module™ family, convergence architecture for mobile device manufacturers designing next generation 3G/4G products. The TRIUMF - TriQuint Unified Mobile Front-end - Module family will offer manufacturers a streamlined radio frequency footprint combining GSM, EDGE, WCDMA and HSPA transmit functionality into one module. Converging functionality into one power amplifier module should offer up to a 50 percent size reduction over today's multi-band module solutions.

New PowerBand™ Devices See Widespread Interest
TriQuint's family of very wideband, highly-efficient discrete RF transistors continues to see widespread media coverage and customer interest.  Articles on the new devices have appeared in the January issue of Defense Electronics magazine, in the February edition of Microwaves & RF as well as the February issue of Microwave Product Digest.  May editions of Microwave Journal and Compound Semiconductor magazines are also expected to include articles on PowerBand™.  The versatile devices have attracted editorial and customer interest since traditional approaches to wideband RF applications forced designers to make compromises regarding efficiency or bandwidth coverage and often resulted in large, heavy systems.  For more information on PowerBand™, click here
