October Open Networking Meeting
Engaging in National and NYS Food Policy This month's Open Networking Meeting will provide a briefing on the status of and linkages between time sensitive food policy issues that are national and regional in scope. Organized by FSNYC's policy committee, this session will focus on hydrofracking in the Marsellus Shale region, the Farm Bill, recent flood impacts and risk mitigation for NY farmers. Learn about how you can get involved in these important issues through upcoming hearings, working groups, and related events. The discussion will be moderated by Thomas Forster, New School. Over two thousand people enjoyed the pork-lover's paradise of Pig Island 2011 last month. FSNYC would like to thank Jimmy Carbone, Food Karma Projects, the chefs who traveled from far and wide, and all the guests and volunteers who made the event such an amazing success. Thank you all!
