2011 Annual Membership Event and April Open Networking Meeting

  

Please join the Food Systems Network NYC for our first ever Annual Meeting. Members are invited to arrive at 11 a.m. to hear updates from our committee leaders and learn more about the work of FSNYC over the last year. Following a brief lunch, members and the public are invited to participate in our April Networking meeting beginning at 12:30 p.m.

 

New York City is developing a reputation as a national leader in food policy. The Mayor's Office, City Council and two of our Borough Presidents are fostering progressive policy and innovative programs. Join us for presentations and discussion with:


Jordan Brackett, Food Policy Analyst, Office of Mayor Michael Bloomberg

Sarah Brannen, Senior Policy Analyst, Food, Health, and Economic Development Policy, New York City Council
Melissa Cebollero, Director of Health and Human Services, Office of Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

During the 12:00-12:30 break, lunch is available through the New School for $10.00 and can be purchased here.

Prepare your taste-buds for a walk-around feast of delightful proportions. A 12-course tasting buffet awaits, prepared by professional and amateur chefs competing in front of a group of esteemed judges inside the favored East Village locale of Jimmy's No. 43. It's the time of year to start dreaming very seriously of fresh, local produce delivered close (enough) to your door. If you are considering signing up for a share this year, take a look at some of the newly-formed CSA models that are coming soon to a neighborhood near you.
