MAY OPEN NETWORKING MEETING
The School Gardens of New York
Please join us Tuesday, May 11th for a discussion on school gardens.
Christina Grace, Manager of the Urban Food Systems Program and Office of Community Gardens for the New York State
Department of Agriculture and Markets will be presenting on the
2009-2010 New York State School Garden Survey. Rasheed Hislop will
discuss the work of GreenThumb. Any garden coordinators or supporters present will be invited to share the success and challenges of their programs. Time: 12:30-2:00 p.m.
Location: The Fund for the City of New York, 121 Avenue of the Americas,
6th Floor.
Suggested donation: $5 for non-members, no one will

| Hip Hop Video Captures the "Abnormality" of Junk Food
Chicago hip hop artist D-Nick
The Microphone Misfit has recorded a funny, catchy tribute to real
food called "Abnormality," (watch it here) which
takes its chorus from the definition of what it means to be healthy.
D-Nick has entered his video in the One Chicago, One Nation contest,
whose goal is to reward "videos that tell the stories of people in
Chicago from different backgrounds working together for the common
good." Please watch the video, share it with friends, and show your
