70s disco fever party


Saturday's Disco Fever was fabulous. Everyone looked cool in 70s inspired outfits and, as always with SBC events,there was a  fantastic party atmosphere. More on that below...

This Saturday we'll be Stripping the Willow at our Spring Fling Ceilidh in aid of Children 1st. The brilliant Thunderdogs ceilidh band will be playing, there will be prize draws, a light buffet and all the usual frivolity. Doors open at 7.30pm and it's all happening at St Bride's Centre, 10 Orwell Terrace, Edinburgh.

Ceilidhs are hugely popular within the Brunch Club and we anticipate this event will sellout in advance. You can buy tickets online now for Saturday's ceilidh and also our Sizzling Summer ceilidh on Saturday 7 June. Everyone is welcome - this event is open to the public.

The week that was...
Cool dudeLast week's highlight was the Disco Fever Party on Saturday. Big thanks to Helen from The Balloonies who did a superb job of dressing the room 70s style - right down to lovely touches such as flumps, flying saucers, yoyos and a bubble machine. She's simply wonderful.

We were thrilled that professional dancers Chalky White of CPN Dance Company and Lindsay Brown of Boogienights were on hand with lots of disco know-how. Chalky (below in white) showed us all how dance Saturday Night Fever style. Move over John Travolta!! 

Congratulations to Justine, Esther, Graham and John who won the dance competition; to Justine, Ian and Nicola who won best dressed; and to Tom who won the DVD player in the prize draw.
