Marist Young Adult Program |
 |
|
Dear Marist Young Adults,
It is hard to believe that spring is here and that Easter is around the corner! During this season we celebrate new life and an abundance of new life has been evident in the Marist Young Adult Program this year. From the release of our promotional video in September and fantastic website statistics throughout the academic year to increasing facebook membership and twitter followers, the Marist Young Adult Program in the United States has demonstrated continued growth. During the Easter season, the Marist Young Adult Program will once again move into new territory with the release of a Marist Young Adult phone app. Look for details in the upcoming weeks.
I hope that you will take some time to celebrate the new life that you are experiencing. I also invite you to take advantage of the upcoming events listed below to help you to continue to grow as Marist Christians.
If you have a suggestion or an idea for any other events, please feel free to contact me at Matt@MaristYoungAdult.com.
Best wishes for a Happy and Blessed Easter!
Peace,
Matt Fallon
Chair, Marist Young Adult Advisory Committee

ONLINE RESOURCE

The Jesuit Post is a new website of essays and blogs geared toward the spiritual interests of young adults. In his introduction to the site, editor-in-chief, Paddy Gilger states, "this site is about Jesus, politics, and pop-culture, it's about the Catholic Church, sports, and Socrates. It's about making the case for God (better: letting God make the case for Himself) in our secular age." One article connects the red carpet, sarcasm and Lent. Another article, "D'oh God! A Simpsons Lens on Lent," connects Homer Simpson's catchphrase to Lenten repentance. Click on the image above to visit the site. Click below to check out the "D'oh God...".
ONLINE SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
The Veterans Site generates funds to provide meals for homeless and hungry veterans. Visitors simply have to "Click Here to Give" and site sponsors contribute to charities that feed needy veterans and their families. Visitors to the site can also send an e-card to help spread awareness that veterans make up 12% of the homeless population or sign a petition that addresses physical, psychological, and economic issues affecting veterans.
