Whether you can commit to the nine month service opportunity or can only come to Esopus for a month, a week or a few days, consider joining other young adults in organizing and staffing retreats.  Participants live together in community, share household chores and pray together daily.  Time is built in for reflection and relaxation.  Click on the image above for an application or contact Bro. ONLINE SERVICE OPPORTUNITY

Feeding America

During the month of November, Marist Young Adults will pause to reflect on world hunger.  Even if your time is limited, just a few clicks can lead you to some vital information and a way to help.  Feeding America is a national food bank network that partners with others to help those in need.  Here's what you can do to help Feeding America feed others: Buy a Snickers bar. Enter the "Bar Hunger" code at www.snickers.com and a meal will be donated to Feeding America.   Join the Huddle to Fight Hunger and Kraft Foods will donate a meal to Feeding America.  Click on the icon above to access Feeding America or on

Dear Marist Young Adults,

Today, the 194th anniversary of Fr. Champagnat's encounter with the dying young boy, Jean-Baptiste Montagne, I am very excited to announce the complete revision of the Marist Young Adult website: www.MaristYoungAdult.com.

Many of the previous features remain including the "What's Happening" page and a "Prayer Wall". New features include: Photo Albums from past Marist Young Adult events, a link to all the previous editions of this newsletter, and a resources page with many useful websites including Marist documents, Catholic sites, and service opportunities.

I hope you will find something you are looking for at
www.MaristYoungAdult.com.  Please feel free to share your thoughts about the revised website or any suggestions for future activities by emailing me at
mfallon03@gmail.com.

How did you get involved with Marist?

As a sophomore at Columbus, I was given the opportunity to attend one of the Marist Youth leadership conferences in Poughkeepsie, NY. During my time in Poughkeepsie, I discovered the "Marist family" and my place in it. As a junior, I also had the opportunity to attend the ENNAGA in Guadalajara, Mexico (essentially the Marist Youth for the secondary schools of the Marist Province of Mexico Occidental). After both experiences, I realized that even though my days as a Columbus student were numbered, I knew I would be Marist for life!.

Why are you still involved with Marist?

I am still involved with Marist because it is something that I hold very close to my heart. The Marist experience has made an immeasurable and positive impact on my life and faith. Now, as a young adult, I would like to give back to Marist for all it has done for me.

How do you live out your Marist identity now?

I pride myself on leading a life modeled after the Marist example. I also served as a young adult leader in the 2010 Marist Youth in Esopus and look forward to any gatherings involving Marist.
