Greetings!
Everyone is aware that a strain of influenza, H1N1 or swine flu, is taking a world-wide tour. Statistics change by the hour, as well as the concern over the dangers of this virus. The latest report is that while more cases of H1N1 are being diagnosed, experts suggest that this strain may be milder than anticipated. Still, there is cause for concern: in the United States, there are now over 400 confirmed cases of swine flu and another 700 probable cases in 44 states. Should you panic? Sure, why not? Let's all run around screaming (wearing surgical masks) and hoarding antibiotics in anticipation of the viral Armageddon that will ravage our planet until there are only a few healthy specimens left to propagate the human race. Just for fun, check out this link to a faux-BBC report about a unique "zombism" mutation of the swine flu in England. Here's the link: Zombie Flu Outbreak!
What can you do to avoid this terrible plague (or annoying virus - depending on the news of the day)? Our InternetIntel directs you to links to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for all kinds of details.
We don't want to create alarm (that's the media's job); just pass along helpful information. Illness at the office affects productivity, so, if you're ill, stay home, rest, follow your doctor's orders and then fill us in on "The Young and the Restless" (we haven't watched it in ages... are Nick and Sharon still married?). |

Farmers Insurance recently purchased auto insurer 21st Century Insurance. 21st Century sells its products online and via telephone while Farmers uses a network of agents. Since research shows more people are shopping and comparing prices and quotes online, the deal will position Farmers to be more competitive and reach customers who prefer Internet transactions.
Employee Records: Just a friendly reminder to encourage your staff to check their monthly benefit (health, dental, life, disability, etc) statement to make sure that they and their dependents (if applicable) are listed and enrolled in the appropriate plans. | |
