Award Winners Symposium
Please join us for a special symposium featuring the Rose Payne, ASHI Distinguished Scientist, and Paul I. Terasaki  Clinical Science award winners  on Thursday, October 11 from 

8:30 AM - 10:00 AM.


The titles of the talks are:
Elaine F. Reed, PhD, D (ABHI) - "Mechanisms of HLA Antibody-Mediated Transplant Rejection".
Rene J. Duquesnoy, PhD - "My Past, Present and Future with HLA".
Denis Glotz, PhD - "Defining the Immunological Risk Pre-transplant"
Bylaws Results and Explanation

The membership approved all three changes to the bylaws, which had been proposed by the Membership Committee. The changes were made to Article II, Section 3 of the ASHI Bylaws, and  consisted of the addition of the words "who are not prior full members". The revised section now reads as follows:

 

Technologist Members - Technologists Members shall be non-doctoral and non-supervisory individuals in the fields of histocompatibility and/or immunogenetics who are not prior full members.

Student/Fellow Members - Student/Fellow Members shall be individuals involved in, or have shown interest in, the field of histocompatibility and/or immunogenetics who are not prior full members. 

International Associate Members - International Associate Members shall be international individuals involved in histocompatibility and/or immunogenetics who are not prior full members.

2012 Board Election Results

The 2012 board election concluded on August 27, 2012.  The following individuals were elected by the membership to serve three year terms on the ASHI Board of Directors.

Treasurer

Elizabeth R. Trimble, MT (ASCP), CHS (ABHI) 

Board of Directors

Dean Sylvaria, BS, CHS (ABHI)

 

Dr. Gerlach's election left open the remainder of his term on the board (one year). The Board of Directors appointed Dr. Michael Gautreaux, Wake Forest University, to fill that vacancy. He is currently serving as ARB Program Director.
