Federal Furnace Elementary School News

FFES Bingo Night written by Helen and Callie in Grade 5

Each year Federal Furnace hosts a Bingo Night. This year, on January 13th, Mr. Pinto, Mrs. Drollett and Mrs. Martin helped the PTA by calling out numbers and getting the crowd excited for Bingo Night.

First up was Mr. Pinto. He started with Traditional Bingos then quickly moved on to Mrs. Drollett. She started off with one round of traditional then moved on to elimination Bingo. Then she handed over the microphone to Mrs. Martin. Mrs. Martin played T-shaped Bingo. "That's in honor of Tom Pinto, T for Tom." She also did traditional. Time passed into intermission. That's when the families could go and get refreshments at the food stand. Then Mr. Pinto was back in the spotlight to end the night. He did a Bingo with just one square, for instance O 61. If a player had that number in that square he/she could go up and pick a prize. Finally he ended Bingo night with Black-out Bingo. That is when you have to get every number in one whole section.

Bingo night was a fantastic evening!!!!!

Cold Spring Elementary School News

The first graders at Cold Spring School have been using the Patriots' amazing Super Bowl run to learn about a variety of skills. The students wrote congratulatory letters to Mr. Kraft and the rest of the Patriot team about the importance of following your dreams, perseverance, and teamwork. Along the way the students were able to work on their letter writing, revising, and editing skills. The students were really excited, because they were assured that their letters would be read by ACTUAL PATRIOT PLAYERS!!! Go Pats!

West Elementary News

During the month of January, the staff at West Elementary came together and decided to recognize students for their positive behaviors in and out of the classroom. The teachers and staff nominated students exhibiting behaviors based around the West School acronym: Wondering, Exploring, Searching, and Thinking. To really showcase the students nominated, the whole school came together for a red carpet themed event titled, "The Westie Awards."

Over fifty students were recognized for their model behaviors and work ethic, with certificates and a walk down the red carpet in front of their friends. Mrs. Learning and Mr. Young hosted the event as the teachers handed their students the certificates. Fun was had by all, while recognizing the accomplishments of these outstanding role models. The whole school is already looking forward to next month's Westie Awards!

Plymouth North High School News

Report cards went home today, Friday, January 27th.

North at the Game

On Sunday January 22, the New England Patriots took to the field at Gillette Stadium to play the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC title game; so did Cuyler Campbell of Plymouth.

Cuyler, a sophomore at PNHS, was on the field as a member of The New England End Zone Militia, and proudly carried the United States flag, (a Bennington), for the opening ceremonies and throughout the game. This was Cuyler's third Patriots game. He has also been a color guard participant with the EZM for the Red Sox on Patriot's Day last season. His favorite professional teams are the Patriots and the Boston Bruins. The Militia has no official affiliation with the Patriots organization, and does not travel with the team.

The End Zone Militia is commanded by Captain Geoffrey Campbell, (Cuyler's dad), and appears on the field for all home Patriots & Revolution games throughout the seasons. The EZM, as it is sometimes called, is comprised of Revolutionary War reenactors from the general area, including Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire mostly. Cuyler Campbell has known reenacting all his life, since his father and grandfather began the hobby in 1975

.
