To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.

The Student Council coordinated the annual holiday food drive competition.  The Student Council collected over 800 food items that filled 30 boxes of Thanksgiving food.  The holiday food drive is sponsored by the Plymouth Women's Club and will benefit many Plymouth families.

The National Honor Society (NHS) has been very busy with community service learning projects.  The NHS donated five holiday baskets to five (5) local families.  Additionally, the NHS hosted a very successful American Red Cross Blood drive today.  Over 100 students signed up to donate blood.

The PN and PS High Schools marketing and mathematics departments are assisting the America's Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration Committee.   The marketing students conducted a survey during Thanksgiving Celebrations on November 20, 21, and 22 and the statistics students will be analyzing the survey results.  Thank you to Kathy Schram, Marketing Teacher, and Rory Plant, Mathematics Teacher, for their support and supervision during this school-community event.

 Lit Leaders Kick Off:

The PNHS Lit Leaders are volunteers who give their time to share their strengths in literacy with peers needing assistance. Today, December 4, 2009, literacy leads the way to Mrs. Gravelle's classroom. The "Literacy Leads the Way" movable banner, along with student "Lit Leaders" from Mrs. Madden's class joined fellow students to compose letters for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the AdoptaPlatoon campaign. In this model, students lead by scribing for peers to create their letters while others lead by working collaboratively and expressing their thoughts orally. PNHS Lit Leaders are defined as both parties involved in the learning process and can take the form of many different kinds of models. Literacy Leads to way to success at PNHS .
