It's been a few months since my last newsletter, and a lot of you have been asking about Book 2 and my TV and film projects, so I figured it was time to get back in touch. While I don't yet have a book release announcement of my own, there is another great book release I'm excited about, as well as lots of other news. So here's what's up . . .

New Films, Web Sites, and More
New Films
Although none of my own latest books have been released yet, I have completed my first three short films and am now working on two feature length films, one about Animals and the Afterlife and the other about the environment. All will be making the film festival and theater rounds before being released on DVD. For more information on these projects, be sure to check out my newly revised web sites, listed at the bottom of this newsletter.
If you have submitted a story for Animals and the Afterlife or the long-overdue Book 2, please know that your story is a contender for the upcoming film. I'll keep you posted as production proceeds.
New Book Updates and More
Many of you are wondering why Book 2 has taken so very long to be released. Well, it's a long story, but since so many of you have asked, I feel I owe you an explanation: Animals and the Afterlife: Book 2 was slated to be released several years ago, but at the last minute, there was a holdup with the title. I was informed that it couldn't be called Animals and the Afterlife: Book 2 and needed a whole new title. This led to a standstill, as I became completely unclear as to what the book should be called instead. I had written it in a "part 2" format, so it needed to be completely revised as a stand-alone book. This created the original delay of the release, and then the arduous process of rewriting led to more delays.
Meanwhile, I had been going through the agonizingly painful process of watching a dear friend die tragically and then grieving that process. Over time, this process became incorporated into my writing, and before I knew it, an additional book was in the works: Before and Afterlife, and its sequel, Happily Ever Afterlife. These books chronicle my afterlife research as it began to include not only beloved animals, but also beloved humans. I found that I was able to reach more people and help more people (and animals) as my work began to take on an even larger scope. Meanwhile, my animal rescue efforts had also taken on a larger scope, and I found myself busier than ever.
I also found myself living in a moldy house that became the "Home Renovation from Hell," which took far too much of my time for far too long but taught me volumes about renovating in an environmentally sustainable manner (this and more are the subjects of another forthcoming film).
To top it all off, a close family member was diagnosed with cancer, and I became involved full-time in the natural, holistic healing process (which, I'm happy to report, has been highly successful and is the subject of yet another forthcoming film).
TV Show
While all of the above was going on, I was juggling offers from several TV producers to produce a show about Animals and the Afterlife, but ultimately, one by one, I turned them all down, as it felt like each one would compromise my work in some way, and it is of utmost importance to me to never "sell out." So I decided to go the independent route and formed my own production company. Since early childhood, I've had visions of producing meaningful films and shows that make a positive difference in the world, so I decided it was high time to make those visions a reality!
My original publishing company, EnLighthouse Publishing (which published the original edition of Animals and the Afterlife before I was so blessed as to have Hay House take over the publication) has now transformed into a production company, EnLighthouse Entertainment. As I write this, the web site is being revised, and hopefully the new, improved version will be up soon.
Healthy Skincare and Bodycare
Many of you have also asked about my healthy, natural, and cruelty-free skincare and bodycare line, which has been in the works for many years. Because of all of the above, I had to put that project on hold for the past several years, as I just didn't have the time to focus on it. But now that things are settling down, that product line will finally launch later this year!
Healthy Pet Food
As for my healthy, natural, and cruelty-free pet food line, well, that's still in the works, and I'm hopeful that it will be launched sometime in 2011. Stay tuned for more on that in the future!
"From Sylvester with Love"
Earlier this year, I had the honor of writing the foreword for a delightful little book (yet to be released), From Sylvester with Love -- Rediscovering the Soul through a Cat with Soul, written by a very special couple, Ringo and Filo Varisco, in Italy. The book was written as a tribute to their beloved cat, Sylvester. It is filled with beautiful photographs and wise passages, and it is yet one more example of the profound ways animals touch our lives.

Well, I guess those are all the updates for now! So the latest books and films are still in process, and I'll be sure to let you know as soon as I know the release dates.
In closing, I just want to thank you for your interest in my work. All of the positive feedback I've received over the years has truly kept me going, even in the darkest hours. And I greatly appreciate those of you who continually share my work with others.
