Greetings!
Spring is here! As you know, this is a season of renewal and new beginnings. Like you, the WSCC is shifting gears; we are shedding our winter gear and preparing for the season ahead. This issue of Insight will help you start the season off right. Don't miss our safety spotlight, link to our new youth-focused website, and information on the launch of our Return-to-Work Toolkit. Regardless of the season, the WSCC is happy to share new resources, publications, and information on upcoming events to help you work safe, every day.
Sincerely,
Anne S. Clark

Safety Education Spotlight-WHMIS
As part of our commitment to safety, the WSCC offers free safety education to employers and workers.
One of the courses we offer is Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). This three-hour course allows participants to learn the three parts of the WHMIS program: labels, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and worker education.
This course is suitable for all employers and employees, and helps create long-term healthier, safer work environments. It is a great supplement to worksite specific training.
WHMIS is just one of the courses the WSCC offers. To learn more about other courses, and to view our training schedule, check out our website here. |

Don't Be a Number Website Goes Live
To help bring the message of safety to young workers, the WSCC developed a brand new website specifically targeting this audience. The site allows young wokers to share their stories of workplace safety or injury, and to ask safety questions. It is also a resource, containing stats and information specific to workers under 25.
