Burning and shining lamps                                           19 Nov 2011
Greetings!
It's over a year since Tamara contacted me after finding our web site. She'd been sensing God's call to missions in the South Pacific and was particularly interested in Tonga. Tamara is serving in Tonga now.
Here are some of her first impressions (taken from her blog with permission) about the Islands and the Pacific Partners ministry.

My recent Tok Tok about Brooke donating children's bible for Amanda's radio program

brought a lot of response.

More Bibles
are needed -

Over the years Pacific Partners has given away hundred of Bibles to seekers and new believers. (Usually the NLT which is easy for our listeners to read).

The reason is simple. Christians cannot grow without the Word of God.

The more we talk about Jesus over the radio, the more people want to know Him. And the way to know Him is through His Word. We are always needing Bibles for new believers.

If you would like to donate for Bibles
click here and for 'Program Designation' select 'Bible Studies and Discipleship'

Thank you very much for putting God's Word into the hands of His island people.

I am finally here  . . .

"I am finally HERE,
the place my heart has longed for,
the place I have missed and never been to . . .

"Tonight will be my first night with the Youth on Fire show that they do here at the radio station. I am so excited to be able to experience the ministry of the youth programs. I am going to be at the radio station daily and then discipleship classes Tuesday night through Friday night in different villages throughout the island and then going into schools in the morning on Thursdays and Fridays . . .
I have the opportunity to get into the jail ministry that they have once a month . . .
Tamara wrote again, about the . . .
Passion, devotion, desire and love
"So I have officially been on the RADIO!!!
Hahahaha!!!

"It was amazing, last night I was given the opportunity to share my testimony on the radio . . .
I explained that when God calls, it doesn't matter what you have to leave behind, if you want to have a deeper walk with God, then you will do what HE has asked of you. I know that God has a plan and that no matter what, I am here to share the saving love of Jesus . . .

"I have been asked to share at a small group and in the family

devotions that we have nightly before the kids go to bed, at the [Tongan host family] house I am staying at. I LOVE this family and I pray that I can be a blessing to them as much as they are to me.

"One of my new friends here is named Sia [a Pacific Partners radio host] and everyday she just desires to be with her Jesus and to talk about Him all day, all the time. WOW!!! What an example to have in my life, she is amazing and she just desires to let others know about how wonderful her Jesus is.

"I am seriously floored at the passion, devotion, desire, and love these people have for Our Amazing Savior. They have the true faith that will move mountains. I am so blessed to know that I am in a safe place where the word of God is spoken freely."

Burning zeal and shining Truth

Jesus said of John the Baptist, "He was the burning and shining lamp . . ." (John 5:35 NLT) John the baptist burned with zeal as he shined the Truth - Jesus Christ, He is the Truth and the Light of the world!

I often think of this verse when praying for our local workers in the Islands. As Tamara says, our workers burn with zeal and passion as they constantly 'shine forth' the Truth.

When we come to the Islands and experience that, like Tamara is, our own passion and zeal is ignited. We are challenged to let Jesus shine more brightly through our own lives!

Burning with zeal and shining the Truth.
This zeal is the culture of our Pacific Partners ministry in the Islands, that you have helped make possible!

Tamara says it so well.

"I pray this touches you to pray not only for me, but for the people here in Tonga to love each other fearlessly.
I know that I am here to experience a deeper walk with MY Jesus and to see His faithfulness in another land . . .

May God bless you for helping
the lamp burn brightly in the Islands!
