I wrote recently about Loni, one of our ministry leaders in Tonga. Loni's family of five was sharing one bedroom in a house of 13 people which made it difficult for him to meet his responsibilities for discipleship, counseling, and overseeing our listener home Bible studies.
We have raised the money for the bond and rental deposit.
We've repainted the inside of the house which reduces the monthly rental.
And Loni has moved in with his family.
Some Partners also committed to making monthly donations for rent.
People responded to the idea of giving $30 a month (a dollar a day) so Loni can do his work more effectively.
But we still need a little more. Monthly rent is Tongan $500 and we're short $180 a month. So, depending on the currency, 3 or 4 more Partners giving $30 a month will cover it!
Loni emails . . .
"It is a blessings to have our own house not only for a time with myown family but to use it for the ministry.
Last week a woman came over to our house. She is having a problem with her husband.
She told us that she is ready to divorce the husband, we look at the scripture and finally she went home with a joyful heart. I left to another appointment but my wife (Fane) look after the lady with her 3 children at our house.
That kind of counselling only available when we have our own place so thank you for your prayer and support that enable us not only to have our own place but to reach out to the people in need."
